adidas Drops Into Streetwear With Rolling Links Collection

The intersection between golf and skateboarding gets busier by the day. No, I’m not talking about PING’s secret skateboard company.

Think Malbon or Metalwood. These brands do an excellent job at blurring the lines between streetwear and golf wear.

Streetwear is rooted in skateboarding culture, after all. It just makes sense that adidas, who has street cred in both sports, dips their toes into the streetwear game, too.

Introducing the cleverly named Rolling Links Collection. The name references skateboarding (rolling of the wheels and linking tricks together) and golf. The collection pairs streetwear style with elevated golf performance wear for something that can easily be worn at the course or to the skatepark.

“The golf fashion landscape today is getting influenced by numerous areas across sport, culture and fashion,” said Dylan Moore, Creative Director, adidas Golf. “Like golf, skateboarding is a sport where style is unassuming, individual and with a little bit of attitude. We saw an opportunity to bring some of that design direction from our skateboarding counterparts at the brand to create something truly unique for the course and continue to push golf fashion in a new way.”

Made with modern performance materials suited for golf, the apparel pieces are slightly oversized and baggy, a testament to the skate culture. The collection features a host of garments and two pairs of golf shoes, including the iconic adidas Superstar.

My favorite touch? The inclusion of the adidas Trefoil logo. While typically reserved for adidas’ skate line, this motif is seen throughout the collection.
